Is Wart Treatment Successful?
At The Blemish Clinic, we use advanced electrolysis for wart removal. The duration of the treatment can take up to 45 minutes per session, depending on the severity and number being treated. While some warts can be treated in one session, stubborn warts may require follow-up appointments. After treatment, six weeks is needed to determine the success the wart procedure.

Advanced electrolysis for wart removal is extremely precise and much more effective than other methods. We use a thermolysis current on the affected areas using a small probe. Since we only use low-voltage current, it is incredibly convenient, safe, and free of negative side effects. The heat generated from using advanced electrolysis for wart removal treatment will kick start the bodies immune system to start fighting the virus.

What Causes Warts?
Certain strains of the HPV cause warts. The virus often enters the body through cuts or cracks in the skin. Once inside, HPV triggers excessive production of keratin, a tough protein that forms the characteristic hard growth known as a wart.

Warts are contagious and can spread through direct contact with infected skin or indirectly by touching contaminated objects like towels, shoes, or public surfaces. It's also possible to spread warts to different areas of your own body, by scratching a wart and then touching another area of skin with a cut or break. Moist and warm environments, like locker rooms or swimming pools, are the most common locations for wart transmission.

Tips for Before & After

Before Your Wart Removal
Avoid applying any chemical topical product on your skin before coming in for your wart treatment. This can make the skin sensitive, and you may experience irritation during the advanced electrolysis treatment.
It is best to keep the area clean and product-free for at least one or two weeks before coming for wart removal treatment.
Wart Removal Aftercare
Once the treatment is completed, scabs will start forming over the wart. Be careful not to pick at the scab to avoid infection or bleeding. The area typically heals in about 14 days.
If a follow-up treatment is required, we’ll pencil in a provisional date. We’ll discuss the aftercare procedure with you and you can ask any questions.
What Are Warts?
Warts are small, benign growths that can occur anywhere on the skin and are caused by a certain strain of the human papillomavirus (HPV). They typically appear as flesh-coloured, firm, and rough lumps, however, some people may have slightly darker warts that are either black or brownish in colour.

Warts may appear solo or in clusters, however, they are non-cancerous in nature and generally harmless. They can be painful or itchy if they develop on your hands, beneath your feet, or where they come into constant contact with clothing.

In most cases, warts resolve on their own, but occasionally, home treatments and topical creams aren’t enough. In this case, professional wart removal treatment becomes an option.

Different Types of Warts
There are different types of warts that can develop on your body. Let’s look at some of the different types:

Common warts: These warts will usually occur on fingers, nails and back of the hand and have a rough texture. The size can vary from a pin-head to as large as a pea.

Plantar warts: These warts appear on feet and ankles, appearing like thick, calloused skin. Warts that appear on the soles of the feet can grow inwards causing immense pain and discomfort.
Mosaic warts: These warts appear in clusters and are flat, and pale. These are commonly found on the ball of the foot or toes.

Flat warts: These can appear anywhere on the body and may develop in clusters. They have a light brown colour and are slightly raised with a smooth texture.

Filiform warts: These are fast-growing warts that look long and spiky. Most commonly found on the face, near the mouth, nose and eye areas.

Periungual warts: These are one of the most uncommon warts and are difficult to treat as they grow under the toenails and fingernails.
