Author's Note: I visited The Blemish Clinic in May 2026 for a complimentary mole screening appointment to experience the service firsthand and provide an account of the process for prospective patients. This review reflects my personal experience, from arrival and consultation through to receiving my results.

If you're considering booking a mole screening appointment but aren't quite sure what to expect, this guide walks through my experience at The Blemish Clinic from start to finish. I'll cover everything from parking and accessibility to what actually happens during the appointment, how long it takes, whether it's painful and how quickly results come back.
Why I Chose to Get A Mole Screening
Initially, I wasn't entirely sure what mole screening involved and booking an appointment felt a little overwhelming because I didn’t know what to expect.
I had a few moles that I'd been meaning to get checked for a while, but like many people, I kept putting it off. I wasn't sure what to expect from the appointment and, if I'm honest, a small part of me was also nervous about what the results might show.
My main concerns were about pain and the timing of results, but luckily, a lot of these initial concerns were put to rest by Charlotte before my appointment.
Having now been through the process myself, I thought it would be helpful to share exactly what happened and answer some of the questions I had beforehand.
Things I Wish I'd Known Before My Appointment
Looking back, there were a few things that would have been useful to know before:
There’s customer parking available behind the clinic
Ground-floor appointments can be arranged if you have mobility concerns
The appointment was quicker and more straightforward than I expected
Nothing about the screening was painful
Every step of the process was explained clearly
You can take home useful leaflets and mole measuring tools for ongoing monitoring
The results don’t necessarily take too long. My results arrived the following day
Hopefully, these details will help you feel a little more prepared than I did!
Arriving at the Clinic
When I arrived, the main road outside the clinic was fairly busy, so I ended up parking on one of the nearby side streets (Oakwood Rd). Finding a space wasn't difficult, but as I hadn’t visited before, I wasn't entirely sure where the best place to park was.
Once inside, Charlotte explained there’s also customer parking behind the building – I'll definitely be parking here next time!
First-Time Visitor Tip: To find the clinic car park, turn off St Matthew’s Parade onto Oakwood Road. Take your first right turn, and the car park is immediately on your right.
My First Impression
After checking in at reception, I waited a couple of minutes before Charlotte came downstairs to take me to the treatment room.
The environment felt calm and professional without feeling clinical or intimidating; it was comfortable, relaxed and reassuring from the start.
Accessibility and Getting to the Treatment Room
My appointment took place upstairs, which required climbing two flights of stairs. While this wasn't an issue for me, it's an important factor for anyone with limited mobility.
Charlotte confirmed that ground-floor appointments are readily available. You just need to let the clinic team know when booking so they can reserve the space for you.
